So many names running through my mind, but the first thought was "Nellie Bly", a woman reporter who went around the world in 80 days, to "prove" it could be done, after Jules Verne's book was published. Her pen name came from a popular song of the time. She was a pioneer for women in journalism

No it's not. I was just trying to start your day off with with a smile. I actually had a somewhat similar, though not as serious a situation. My wife and I stayed at a nice hotel and brought our 2 dogs along (allowed). We had some nice evenings out, leaving the dogs behind (No dogs allowed in Mohegan Sun and definitely not the buffet...they eat too much. When we came back, the other guests were complaining about their incessant barking. New surroundings, owners left...DUHHHH!...they knew the hotel's pet policy. Sorry again that I couldn't be helpful and please accept my apology. .

Thank you, Clonge. This dog has been nothing but loving and companionable, and has been with me for five years. I really thought giving him some access to the house would be OK. I think my son was over here early to visit a neighbor and Dieszal recognized Alan's truck sound, which generated the barking.
I won't be attending our next social gathering here, that's for sure. Or maybe I will, and comment on how Dieszal's barking has alerted me to strangers wandering on our private property back road on more than one occasion. Jerks...
