Money..plain and simple  !

Not really a battle.....Granddaughter didn't eat her dinner, but the other 3 did. They asked for a tangerine and I had one for each. She hurried into the kitchen wanting one.  Her mom was in the kitchen with me and told her she couldn't have one because she didn't eat her dinner and everyone else did.  I agreed with Mom. 
Kid screamed her head off.  My son came in and said to give her (his stepdaughter) a tangerine.  We declined, politely.  He gathered up everyone and left.
We straightened it out before they got home.
