Fall is coming soon here in Mi! Does anyone have predictions for our winter, based on folk lore like acorns or wooly worms?

Read today that persimmon seeds are the key. This year they have a spoon inside indicating a rough winter. The knife or fork means mild weather. Go buy a local fruit (ours was the spoon).....

I'll get some and try it.

I really like this answer! Hope it comes true!

I live in Mich too. That last 2 winters were hard..........especially the winter of 2013.

Sometimes my white cat gets her winter coat earlier in the  fall than other falls. It hasn't come in yet. They are predicting a El Ninja for this winter  in Mich.......which is a good thing. Clu, remember the El Ninja we had in the 90s.?.......where we had many mild winters ?  It's a trade wind that develops in the South Pacific or mid Pacific and blows mildly up here.

All I can say is- - -read the Farmers Almanac. Some people swear by it.

I think the farmers almanac says we are in for a bad winter!
Some of our acorns are falling and they look small so maybe it will be mild!

Have you tried ROMOS' code with your copy shortcut yet Miss Duckykins?

Last year at this time the northern cold arctic air was much further east than it is now. My guess is a much colder forecast for Minnesota this winter. Down through western Kansas and western Texas. Not as cold for northeast and less snow. One web site I looked at stated flooding in Iowa in November.
