George died on October 21, 2011, by which time I had link fabricated the plates, pillars, and most of the train (i.e. mainspring barrel, fusee/maintaining power assembly, centre, third and fourth wheels). I would machine a link part and then, every link week or two, drive up to Riversdale for it to be inspected. George was certainly very encouraging and I felt a need to do my best. I didn't want to let him or myself down.
