Europe is facing its worst refugee crisis since World War II. Should the U.S. take any of them in?

9/10/15. It appears Obama has approved 10,000 refugees. They will be legal immigrants and may avail themselves of all social services the taxpayers currently fund.
Sifting through for terrorists needs to be thorough.

Maybe intervene in Syria if possible. I'm for people not being displaced from their homes.

If we actually had something better  to offer here, it might be an option. A lifetime on public assistance doesn't appeal to everyone.

Who should the US support in an intervention. el-Assad or ISIL ?

There are a lot of Armenians in Syria. I'm praying for them

Only if they can guarantee to return back to their own country when safe to do so,,keep in mind that among these people there will be Isis people sympathetic to Isis, or Isis  members,,food for thought..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

""HOW would they get over the wall? I'll build one there to keep them out also!

...and he'll get Syria to pay for the wall !

I don't see why not virtually every other western country is going too, U.S. has to share some responsibility for bombing the country - Australia has taken in more refugees per capita over the last few years than any other country. - (not that i disapprove or approve).

And how will they get here

Hey Kent,i do not think it is about just taking them in,a lot has to be considered, will they fit in ,how many, will they go back when safe to do so,can the country afford them,,what part of the country will they go to,where will they live ,will they find jobs, can they speak the language, are they safe to bring into the country,,and a lot more to consider,,this can end up changing the face of a country,,Always good talking Kent..>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

Most of the people coming to Europe are not refugees, they are economic immigrants. They are heading for Germany & France first , where the brighter ones will be allowed to stay and get jobs , that's ok if they are contributing to the economy there. On the other hand we in the UK will probably take in the less desirables who will come over , and live off the state, they will be allowed to come over to the UK, as there is nothing to stop them whilst we are members of the EU. The best think the USA can do for themselves is not get involved. Even though Tony Blair and George Bush created the problem in the first place.

I'd be more than happy, if I had the means to do so, take someone(s) in. It would be fun, educational, and worthy. As the Irish say: there is always enough for one more. Yep, I will do it, let me talk to David about it......

Julie: It just hit me! Bernardo O'Higgins (Irish of course) was instrumental in Chile's gaining independence, so MAYBE that's why he thinks it's in S, America....or, maybe not!
