    In the very upper left hand corner of my Kindle there is my name and then a number: sometimes 5 or 8 or more. Today it is 24. What does this number signify?

    Or am I being dull witted?

      From the User Guide: "Notifications are messages generated by games and applications."

        I'm tapping and tapping and nothing happens. The number now is 6…… now it’s 5
