Advertising pays for the site. No one would operate any site without a revenue stream.

MsBob i hate to disagree with you, the Karma points can be rid of, as i noticed in the past, it seemed to me to cause cliques amongst members, i may be imagining this, as i said before only my opinion, still have TU's and TD'S by all means --- Aka started out as Q&A Site, we turned it into a chat sight which was great, maybe the Aka Admin may not have liked this plus other things which i don't want to mention her name -- Whoops. :)

Yes, it's a shame she whose name must not be mentioned rallied the once naive to blackball members disliked by her. Seems to have backfired, actually. The hardy/hearty survived and flourished. The naive became seasoned.
