What separates the Toric from the Tonda is the design link philosophy link (and lineage) behind it. I mentioned before that the brand reissued the Toric this year, but "reissue" isn't exactly the right word for what Parmigiani has done. As I link mentioned in my past story, the brand isn't trying to look backward with the Toric design, but rather has kept only a few key design features like the knurled bezel, inspired by Doric columns, and the "torus" geometry.
