I've just read several articles about him and his deadly accident.  What a selfless action he took, and that was likely what caused his death.

No article says where he is buried more than to say "over the ducks and geese" and notes he is an "Accringtonian", whatever that means.

He was born in Jersey so it may be worth contacting the Jersey Heritage site.
