Line a wee container with tin foil, dilute a tsp of baking soda with a half tsp of salt in boiling water, put your items in this for about 30 minutes, should come out sparkling clean Julie, and it's cheap.

My scorched pan (milk) is clean and shiny now. I thought about you each time black floated to the surface
Romeos, Thx. I'm a big believer in baking soda to clean things, too.But, I didn't know about the tin foil. I'll try it. There's hope for my ring, and other rings too. Yay !
