          He probably came over here form Merry old England like my ancestors on my dad's side did. ........in 1635. Your ancestors prob settled first in  N.Y.  or Massachusetts. Maybe they are related to the family that Hyde Park was named after.  That was FDR's retreat or home, and the land surrounding it.
