I don't deal in checks much anymore but the bank used to have you sign as the name shows on the front and then sign again, with the correct name.

I think you'll be fine. But now, you must share the money with me.

Then just send ALL of it to me, in pounds, and I'll be happy to figure it out. :)

Good deal, you can use yours to vote with in the U.S. as long as you are pre-registered via legal ID (stupid law)......

That would be handy would i have to live in Boston?

I receive some checks in my maiden name, some in my married name, some with a middle initial or name.  I sign the check exactly as it has been issued, then sign my name as it is on my account and cash or deposit it.  I think Ducky is correct.  I wouldn't be able to simply cash a check made out to someone else (even a misspelled name as in your case) with just an ID that has a different name from the payee.  Sign the check with the wrong spelling BEFORE you go to the bank, then with your correct name and your account number.  That will prevent it from being cashed by someone else if you happen to lose it or it is stolen.  The account number on the back of the check limits where the funds will go.

O/K sure will Miss Bob,on your inforrmation,

All that stuff just means I agree with Ducky. :D

It all depends on the teller really.Any teller with an ounce of common sense will cash it for you.But tell me...why did you accept a cheque in this day & age of electronic transfers etc? Cheques are almost a thing of the past out here.I don't even have a cheque book anymore & I will never accept a cheque for payment for anything. They can transfer money directly into my account. It's quicker, cheaper & safer.

Electronic transfers never bounce as long as they are transferred, had a few bad payers in the past.
