      No, dear hector, a human can not give a cold to a dog.  This website will give you more information (for some reason, I couldn't copy and paste the article)

        He could have an allergy, or a cold, or something stuck in his nostrils! Check the article I referenced for you, and here's hoping William is feeling better very soon. Poor Dieszal continues to have a sore looking eye, though there is "nothing wrong" with him. :(
