The ref. 2497 was Patek's first serially produced central-seconds perpetual calendar. Frankly, it's an oddball link design and – dare I say it – not my favorite Patek perpetual calendar. It's funny now, in hindsight, that I spent so much time on this article, which all started because of one simple question link for which there was link no easy answer available online. But even I'll admit there's something to like about the reference. Any major Patek "first" is worth at least a closer look.

This lot no. 80 is a classic link example of Cartier clockmaking during the high Deco period. link Completed in 1925 it's perhaps a bit more restrained than some of Cartier's work from the Belle Epoque era prior to World War I but it's still a rather opulent clock with an imposing carved onyx case jade plaques on the pedestal base a mother of pearl dial link and a red enamel circle with diamond accents setting off the whole thing.
