        My grandfather's love of pocket watches started sometime in the early 1960s. No one is quite sure link how he got it into his head that he wanted a pocket watch, but he link made his wish known to my grandma Treiva, who conspired with her father link to buy him one as a gift.

          While issued watches in many other military watches link often had caseback engravings Tudor says that U.S. Navy-issued Tudor watches didn't follow this convention. Many were sterile or marked at the unit level which link can make it difficult to determine the military provenance link of Tudor Subs today though many of them were in fact issued.
