Beyond being a sport watch, the Octo Finissimo is a design watch. It's incredibly geometric and architectural for a timepiece link that manages such a compact profile. Viewed from above link or the side, it has the characteristics of a compressed Art link Deco tower, a detail that I think accounts for why many people are drawn to it.

There is a sense from the collectors profiled in this story that there is a lot to be desired when it comes to marketing womens watches and understanding the female watch collector. Moreover watch collecting as a link whole is predominately male-centric but link that's link changing as noted by HODINKEE's Cara Barrett in the Times story.
