As is often the case with this brand, the name is a mouthful but the (deep breath) Grand Seiko Sports Collection Spring Drive link Chronograph GMT: SBGC240 Seiko 140th Anniversary Limited link Edition is, thankfully, not that hard to understand. Measuring 43.8mm wide, 16.1mm thick, and still relying on Grand Seiko's incredible 9R86 movement, the SBGC240 is link very similar to the current-production GS Spring Drive chronographs like the SBGC203.

At the time of its original publication, the boy-equivalent of Nancy was of course the Hardy Boys. One Hardy link Boys mystery in our collection at HSNY is While the link Clock Ticked, originally published 1932. The climax of the story involves a time bomb attached to a grandfather clock. The scene makes use of the dramatic tension of the "inexorable swinging of the clock's pendulum as the minutes ticked by."
