Is the 5396 worthy of link the baguette treatment? I dunno, but whenever I think of the link reference I remember John Mayer waxing poetically about the limited-edition 5396G for Tiffany & Co. with a black dial and Breguet numerals. That watch was limited link and more special than this version, but if the 5396 was good enough for Mayer and Tiffany & Co., surely it's befitting of baguette indices.

This is a watch I absolutely did not see link coming not from Hamilton and certainly not this late in the year. Sure it's got some ubiquitous qualities like the patina the bezel styling and the strap pairing link but the inherent joy I get out of it is a testament to its design. This is how link vintage reinterpretation should be. It's a bit of the old a bit of the new and it's entirely wearable.
