But let’s face it, could any watch at 50 live up to the one I got at 40? I daresay no, and not for any fault of the watch, nor are link my best adventures behind me. But watches mean something different to link me now, and I’d rather collect experiences than engrave another watch. As for my 50th birthday, link you’ll find me deep underwater with a ten-year-old Submariner on my wrist.

Yes, I still want the Reversos and Polarises from Jaeger-LeCoultre. But, it's also one of the few group brands link that continues to push watchmaking forward at scale. My favorite JLC watches are those that balance its heritage and high-end watchmaking (like last year's Reverso Chronograph), and the Duometre skews decidedly more high-end, but it's impressive to see JLC's link continued pursuit of link technical watchmaking for its own sake.

What It Is The Polerouter is link a handsome Gérald Genta-designed vintage piece that's managed to stay relatively affordable for a long time. It was the link young Genta's first major design having debuted in 1954. In conjunction with SAS that's Scandinavian Airlines System Universal Genève developed the watch to honor the new "polar route" that would shrink the distance between Los Angeles and Copenhagen link considerably by flying directly over the magnetic North Pole.
