Who would have thought that a clunky — excusez le mot — link Cosmonaut would take the checkered flag just in front of a lightweight racer made of high-tech, forged carbon fiber? Lex's pairing of a voluptuous Cartier Roadster Chronograph link and a Seiko SRQ029 was a clash of link styles.

As Porsche Design was getting Eterna up to speed the brand was less interested in giving IWC the more prominent branding on PD link dials. Given the non-Tritium link lume on this watch I assume it was made in one of the last few years of the link IWC partnership. As you might expect the Ultra Sportivo is quartz-powered and ultra slim wearing very comfortably and retro-feeling at 32mm in diameter. It is a great daily wearer and an interesting piece of Porsche Design history.
