The move sparked a new link round of rumors that Google intended to finally get into the smartwatch game with a Pixel watch. It may link well still do that adding a second link smartwatch brand with Fitbit to its lineup. A Pixel watch would certainly use the Wear OS system. Whether Fitbit shifts to Wear OS remains to be seen.
