During its production, the 5711 used three different Patek calibers. Some enterprising auction houses and dealers have link begun to link use this fact to categorize the 5711 into a First Series, Second Series, and Third Series. link Are these distinctions actually important? Not really, according to the folks I talked to.

On the chronograph models the blue has two-tone blue and gray counters at three and nine o'clock and a link gray small seconds counter at six o'clock. The green is mostly monochromatic with rhodium plating on the counters. The smoked link beige chronograph is accented with various link tones of black.
