I won't sit here and tell you that a 1mm change in width or thickness makes link all the difference in link the world. I can't think of many instances where link 1mm is a "stop the presses" moment for any watch. But I could make a strong argument that, in this case, it does a lot more for the Streamliner than the dial, no matter how striking that Grand Feu enamel is – and it is.

This particular movement was developed in the 1940s and was the basis for the Lemania link 2310 which Omega used as the link caliber 321 in the Speedmaster. It was also and quite famously used as the basis for movements from other makers including Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin the latter used it as the basis link for the caliber 1142 which is found in among other places the Cornes de Vache chronographs.
