Do you think it's safe to permit this?

http://www.aol.com/article/2014/08/01/pit-bull-gives-adorable-baby-a-laugh-attack/20940576/?ncid   If not, what should be done, if anything to the adult(s) responsible?

(jhharlan here on Bob's computer)  Forget what kind of dog that is, think about all that slobber all over the baby...............

    (1) JHHARLAN says pit bulls have a screw loose in their heads; this gave her the creeps.

Bob/PKB says my grandchildren are around my son's American Bulldog and I have watched him wag his tail with enjoyment and also heard him utter a growl at the baby. We tend to keep the dog away from the kids and would never allow or encourage a scenario like the one you referenced for us.

    You just never know......................

Yep; one second and it can be "all over".

My son's (icky) girlfriend and her (equally icky) 6 year old son were here the other day. He slugged my OTHER son in the back (apparently how he plays with people). Our American Bulldog started barking at the kid and wouldn't stop. Had anyone told him "get him", I've no doubt the dog would have flattened the brat. I'm glad the dog has been trained NOT to attack; if I'd been in the room when this happened, I might have bitten the kid AND his mother (who sat there and said nothing).

If I had ever heard of ONE pit bull ripping ONE child's face to shreds, I would never allow this. Why? Just common sense I guess. Before you pit bull defenders jump all over me, there are many breeds of dogs who have NEVER done such a thing....EVER!

It doesn't look like a good idea to me.

I am in more danger than that baby is. That dog will likely guard that child with it's life. I don't know if you recall a recent news story about 400 Pitbulls being rescued from a famous sports goof's dog fighting 'club' and of the 400 dogs, not one bite was given out and all 400 were successfully placed in 'forever' homes. If you want to pick on a breed of dog that is known to kill children... choose Rottweillers... now that is one nasty, inbred breed.

I saw it. They were so happy to be free.

Wasn't that the best! None of them wanted to 'fight' and they were so happy to be loved and patted and cared for... man it brought tears to my eyes... xo
