My daughter age 46 is going into menopause so it is possible.

Some women experience early menopause at around age 45. If your mother did the same at that age, it would be a good indicator. Some women can stop and start their periods for five years or more before menopause truly starts. It can also be a symptom for a lot of other issues. Only way to tell if you are in menopause is to go to your doctor and he will do a blood test.
