I sometimes feel like my heart misses a beat

Sometimes you may notice that your heart has unexpectedly started to race or pound, or feels like it has skipped a beat. These sensations are called palpitations. For most people, palpitations are a once-in-a-blue-moon occurrence. Others have dozens a day, some so strong that they feel like a heart attack.

Most palpitations are caused by a harmless hiccup in the heart’s rhythm. A few reflect a problem in the heart or elsewhere in the body. Doctors can be quick to attribute them to anxiety, depression, or some other emotional or psychological problem. Although sometimes that’s exactly right, it’s important to first rule out harmful heart rhythms and other physical causes.

I was too young in that picture that was about 2 years ago by the way the Arctic was too cold and the penguins kept telling me one thing "quack quack" and life became boring there so I came back to ma home to see ma country being beaten 4-1 yesterday and life continued

A little consolation, at least they can say they were there, better than my country can say, and we invented the game....;)

how did the game begin i read a funny story of two neighbours who were quarelling about something then started kicking bottles over the hedge and was later picked on by children i can never believe this one

Don’t worry about it unless you are feeling faint or dizzy.  Skipping a beat is fairly common.  If this scares you, see a doctor……..

ME TOO!  It feels like it skips a beat, then stumbles some beats quickly, as though to make up for the missed beat.

It is most likely benign, but it won't hurt one bit to get confirmation of that.  Make an appointment with your regular doctor; if you feel like a referral to a cardiologist, ask for one.  Advocate for yourself; no one else will.

My heart skips every seventh beat ... it just does it and I really don't care.

hmmmm.... perplexed .... [ puts down mirror ] lol

jharlan is right. I can happen for years.......like it did with me. So, I finally went to a Dr. about it and he slapped on me a 24 hour Holter monitor.  He gave me Tenormin, b/c I was getting extra heartbeats. And I did feel weak and dizzy, like jh said.  So, I've been taking Tenormin for years now with good results.
