      Start by turning your steering wheel the opposite way to where you want the trailer to go.When the trailer starts to turn, turn your steering wheel in the other direction to follow it.

        That applies to anything from a tri-axle semi to a 6x4 box trailer.Dog trailers are a little different but you wouldn't ask about backing one of those up on this forum.
