I first became aware of Maya when I borrowed I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS from my grandmother.  Beautiful story and it explained so much about the woman.  Her work will be missed…….

I only knew her from being on the Oprah show. I'm not a fan of poetry and not familiar with other things that she did.      :(

Maya Angelou was a truly remarkable woman with an incredible story. She DID make a difference and will definitely be missed by those who know her work and loved her.
