Will a beta fish survive in a tank with an air pump?

Some sort of directions we read said they do not like the movement……….

Thanks, we didn’t run across this one. Good information……...

Bettas do not need water pumps. While bettas certainly benefit from filtration, extra sources of water movement like pumps are not good for them. Bettas need more than an unfiltered bowl to thrive and live out their full life span, but a water pump makes it hard for long-finned bettas to swim.

Our fish (Jenny) is just swimming around like she’s having fun…….

Did you know they can't be put with other fish ?

Yes, I’ve learned that but I was thinking of a bottom feeder (baby cat fish). Surely it would just stay on the bottom and not bother Jenny…...
