Oh alright then, they also serve, who only stand and listen,
    ROMOS

When I consider how my light is spent
Ere half my days in this dark world and wide,
And that one Talent which is death to hide
Lodged with me useless, though my soul more bent
To serve therewith my Maker, and present
My true account, lest He returning chide,
"Doth God exact day-labour, light denied?"
I fondly ask. But Patience, to prevent
That murmur, soon replies, "God doth not need
Either man's work or his own gifts. Who best
Bear his mild yoke, they serve him best. His state
Is kingly: thousands at his bidding speed,
    And post o'er land and ocean without rest;
They also serve who only stand and wait.

    Dear Hector (and William),

Please do not make light of serious matters, such as "taking a break" from akaQA.  Too many fine people have taken a break, been broken, or just wandered off to something else.  If you need a day off, or an evening free, by all means, it is yours.  However, if you say adieu to us, I will have to go to your house and kick some serious you-know-what. You will feel like a fish out of the water when I'm through!!

    Sincerely, and with much affection,
    Bob/PKB

Oh no hector....Miss Ducky will miss you!     :(

ROMOS and country bumpkin - I must apologize to everyone here as I seem to have got a little conversation going with you both. Just to say did you know ROMOS - you were born on the same day as Frederic Chopin - "The Day of Universality" and country bumpkin you were born on "The Day of Emancipation" - on this day George Sand was born. Chopin and George Sand were lovers.

What a koinky-dink!W e did not know this Poppy.
You do know I'm a girl, right! (*~*)
    xoxo
    Poppy3

country bumpkin - George Sand was a lady - She was an extremely famous novelist and as far as I can remember this was her pen name - always known her under this name - not sure if she has another. xoxo Love is the best here - of course I know you are a girl - how long have I known you - silly. xo

LOL LOL LOL....I'm red faced! I had no idea George was a girl. I should know better because my first name and my nick name are both spelled like a boy.

What? "Country" is a boy's name????
    Poppy3

country bumpkin - do not have a red face - everybody understands George to be a boy's name and indeed it is. I have checked to make it clearer this is her pseudonym of Armandine-Aurore-Lucille Dudevant born 1/7/1804 Paris, France. French Romantic - she was extremely interesting - I will have to read more.

Ducky - do not make me laugh. You are so funny.

Many female authors used to (some still do) use male names. Otherwise, they would be ignored by publishers.

I'll read up on ole George too.
    Poppy3

Ducky - I am sleep deprived amongst other things - first body clock went and then stopped - lucky to have three hours slept better last night. You would not believe how complicated my life has become - I am trying to get my act and everything else together and get out of this place - I so want to live in the country. Hope you are good - read your comment about Easter. You are absolutely right - let us not embarass country bumpkin - so many female authors years ago used a man's name and as you say still do. The thing is I too love Scotland but miss her previous profile if I can remember - did it have her face or am I confusing it with the also sweet face istmee? Be well xx I am still laughing the at what you said - I do not know what koinky-dink is but CB is right - I must have sounded so.
    Poppy3

Yes C/B you read up on her - very interesting - I do know you and ROMOS are both sensitive souls and cannot imagine what you thought I was saying. Good here huh?

You're a sweetheart Poppy. I'm not offended by anything Ducky or yourself have said. You have brought a smile to my face sweet lady.
Poppy a koinky-dink is a more casual version meaning of Coincidence.
I hope you get to move to the country if this is what you really want. I'm a country gal, I love the country life and so will you.

    Poppy3

country bumpkin - thank you for explaining "coincidence" - I would not have been surprised if it meant something else. This was the very reason I told you about these two huh. Thank you for your good wishes - I have always wanted to live in the country - wanted to marry a farmer but thought how in the world will I get up and ended up getting up at dawn anyway. Go well you two.

hector take care of yourself. come back when you have time.  good luck and keep going!!! LOL
