I have your Brazilian cherry hardwood floor. The floor is darkening which is OK except that I placed a rug on it and under the rug it is not darkening. I removed the rug for several months and the floor is still not as dark as the rest. Will I ever be able to place rugs on this floor without leaving a line with dark on one side and light on the other?

No, the rugs will always persevere the color while light will change the color of the wood not covered. This is the way for any hardwood floors.
