Kapital was founded in Kojima link in 1985 by Toshikiyo Hirata. Today, under the creative direction link of Toshikiyo's son, Kiro Hirata, Kapital has become a highly coveted brand that takes an avant-garde approach to the denim tradition, adding layers and patches (see Boro denim tradition) and psychedelic iconography. They also produce classic workwear styles with a bit of a revisionist twist (like the ones link pictured here).
