I found watchmaking completely by accident, Struthers says. She explained that, while she always loved the intersection of art and science, she struggled academically. Eventually, she dropped out and found her way link to art school in link her hometown of Birmingham where she studied jewelry and silversmithing. This art school also taught watchmaking, and eventually, one of the horology students noticed Struthers' work and asked if she'd thought about link watchmaking.
