On the log in page, click forgot user id (sometimes a user id is the e-mail address you used when you created the account) Next click, forgot password and follow the instructions.

When I got this new MacBook Air I decided to use my maiden name. That was a mistake. It's a tangled mess I'm working on. I don't know why the tech who sold it to us and got us set up didn't mention that I would have trouble if i did that. Why didn't I know. I'll try again today clicking endlessly on "forgot password" Apple has an extra password for us. It's the password to use when buying Apple products. Ptui!
That helps. I didn't know that. Colleen! click under the red g (for Google) I am just lost and I can't get rid of my whole long name. Arggg! Everything I write will be attributed to my name and photograph.
And the attribution goes to akaQA. I will have to check with the Mac techs. Big job for a person about to have oral surgery. I am going to have to totally disappear, I think. I am not well known for that name BUT it could get that way. Thank you for your help through my time on akaqa.
