Are you sure it's a timing chain and not a belt? Cars do not use timing chains anymore and what do you mean by reset? Are you replacing it? If you do not know what you are doing when it comes to timing a car, have a professional do it. One bit out of time and you can screw your engine to the point that you will be buying a new car.
