I recently moved into a new home with a back yard FULL of mating Cardinals. They make a racket starting at 5am. I have seen them mating as recently as yesterday and in my opinion if a Cardinals mate has died I wish it would just FLY AWAY and morn on someone else's back yard tree so I can sleep. :)
