        Karma is points that you earn when a member gives your question or answer a thumbs up because they feel it is a good question or answer. You get nothing more than the satisfaction that others are acknowledging your questions and answers. Karma is not a game, you do not win anything nor can you trade in the points for anything.

          The original point of karma, as I recall, was to validate questions and answers that one appreciated.   It has lost its appeal in that people abuse the privilege.
