Which browser do you use? They are just hidden but I need to know the browser in order to tell you how to make them visible.

Launch the Safari Internet browser on your computer.
Click the "Safari Settings" menu, then click "Customize Toolbar." A new window will appear.
Locate the "Back" and "Forward" button in the list of items. This icon will appear as two arrow buttons and will be labeled as "Back/Forward."
Click and hold on the "Back/Forward" button.
Drag the button out of the window and drop it on the browser's toolbar.
Click the "Done" button to finish the customization. The "Back" and "Forward" buttons will now be enabled on your browser toolbar.
