An acquaintance of mine, was told by her doctor that she had about 6 months (at most) to live, and that she should get everything in order. That was 19 years ago. Never accept words such as those, even IF you believe the speaker is an "expert"!!!

Cancer that has spread to another part of the body is called metastatic cancer. If it reaches this point the outlook is dim. However, it really depends on which organ or part of the body has been attacked.  Some cancer victims can live a long life carrying the disease.  Modern medical technology gets better with each passing day, I suspect that even in my lifetime there will be a cure, they have been close several times so they are on the right track. Cancer is a generic name for many types of cancer, not all are treatable.  I am survivor, I caught it in time but there's always chance that it will return.
