No they hadn't been invented in those days. Just long draws that came down to her knees, and woolly stockings.

Mom and Dad were my first teachers, of course. In organized education (kindergarten), I think it was Mrs. Anderson. NOT one of my security questions, so won't do you much good.

I do not remember the first one, but a character was 3 rd. grade, Miss O'Rourke, with her fiery red hair, overdone red lipstick and she would grab the boys by the ear if she wanted to reprimand you. (Still can feel her pinch)
