      Whatever you find comfortable. Mine sits on an open buffet and hutch drawer with the computer tilted upwards.The space underneath allows for air to circulate to keep the lap top from getting too hot.

        sit in a comfortable chair, maybe even with your feet up. Put lap-top on lap.
