There are some animals there that I don't prefer. : ) Other than that ... I'm on my way. We're hoping to visit in August. It would probably be cold there. That would be a good thing!
I shouldn't worry about the 'Some' animals as 99.9% of Aussies have never come across them in the wild, August will be cold to mild except for northern queensland, should be hot and fine, Tom would know more about his home state. --- which state/s are you planning to go too?
August is usually very nice in Qld Itsmee.It can be a little windy at times but the temps are very mild.
I don't want to disappoint you, mycatsmom, we do not have pet Koala's, all Australan animals, birds, and marsupials are protected. -- with any luck you will get to hold one.:)

Romas, The grass is green in that picture. I see no snow. How can that be when you're so far north ?
I'm in the East of Scotland mcm, we always seem to get plenty rain now but the snow may not appear until January or February, pick "n" mix here.

Unlike the Northern Hemisphere, South Australia is/had beautiful, clear sunny blue skies for the last 10 days around the low 30's C ( 85-90 F ), at the present time 10.15 am Sunday 29-- 21c, i love the warm weather but we need rain- i commiserate for my fellow Aka,ins who live in North America and UK with the snow storms and floods you are experiencing.

MCM..Our winters are very mild.The coldest days get down to about 40 deg F.& it only lasts for a few days relly.
