I recently bought a kindle Fire HDX , I'm using it at the moment. You can do most things on it that you want to do on the internet, emails, download games, bookmark anything etc. The only thing I haven't managed to do (as yet) is down load photos from another source, and you have a front facing camera only. So you can take a photo of yourself and it will go into your photos, but that's all I've managed to do photo wise so far. It's probably just something I haven't discovered yet, all the same I am pretty pleased with it so far.
