    Things You'll Need
    Repair MyWord Software

    Instructions
    1
Download Repair MyWord. This software is free and is designed specifically to assist Microsoft Word users in recovering corrupted files.

    2
Open Repair MyWord after the software has been downloaded. The software can be opened by clicking on the downloaded file or on the icon that appears on your desktop.

    3

Click on the "Repair/Open" button, located at the top left of the screen. This screen is the WordRepair screen. Browse to the file where the corrected Word file is saved and open it.

    4
Click on the "Save" button at the top of the screen to repair the corrupted file. The program will recreate the file as an .rtf file, which stands for rich-text format.

    5
Navigate to the .rtf file on the computer and click on it to open it. The corrupted Word file has now been recovered.
