    Just letting you know in case you have any suggestions. You know wood and and issues with it better than I since you spent many years of your life in the industry as a carpenter and painter.

    It depends on the type of mold it is that is creating the dust or may be creating the dust. Make sure the dust is not because you have termites. If it is a brown dust like you suggested in your other question, then it could be termites. Have the wood inspected by a qualified person who knows about mold, mildew and possible termite infestation.
