Yes it is Wallstreet.Speculators are sizing on recent political Turmoil in Africa and middle East driving Energy Prices to unwarranted levels. Thanks leeroy. I found the information I was looking for.

I know that they played a big part in it, the suggestions I've heard is to regulate the trade in oil, making the speculators put more money down. Sounds like a good idea to me.
They take advantage of our Ecomony to make money, that drives foodprices up at the same time.and they never come down.
    Probably rich Republicans

Maybe. But we needto know for sure
A part of the problem is that you don't have to put much money down to speculate, this part of the problem could be helped by a little more regulation. If the government were to require more of a down payment to speculate, there would be (Less Speculation), that would most likely stabilize prices and lower them as well.
    Investors--- Probably rich democrats.. :)

On (or whatever your name is) I read your reply the first time. I think you are misjudging the education and intelligence of your peers here, I am aware of the Bush's involvement in oil, just as i am aware of AlGore's investment in oil and other high profile democrats, now the new scam is alternative energy, this field of investment is drawing hordes of speculators as well as thousands of other crooked market controllers,All behind AlGore scare tactics that are intended to make them wealthy beyond any oil investor's wildest dreams. The 'wallstreet deregulation' is the biggest culprit, this I agree is a republican failure, however, the democrats are doing nothing to fix it. Obama's stimulus packages are also a failure, major burden to the American people -as one company "soylandra solar panels' that received 535 million walked off with it.. There is blame on both sides, I am a republican, I am willing to admit my party's failures, how about democrats? are they willing?? Not that i see or hear.. Democrats are always pointing fingers at bush, yet their guy has so far been the Messiah unable to make a mistake regardless of the failures he had created as clear as the nose on 'your' face.. :)<----smile
    Probably rich Socialists...

It is almost impossible to find out what goes on behind closed doors. They like to keep it that way!

I used to work at a stockbrokers office and was considering taking my series 7 test,(to become a stockbroker) the only problem was that you had to lie to your clients. I didn't want to be a professional liar.
what I find intriguing is this when they tell us they are not make money every quarter when the profit's are released they are racking in BILLIONS can any one say a hogwash !!
    Ann

You are right. Derugulation on Wallstreet!
Oil is a commodity, which means the price fluctuates due to supple and demand. Even perception affects this, since an unstable government in an oil producing country COULD affect oil supply - even if it does not - still can make the price go up. Speculators make their money betting on pricing going up or down. They "bet" on future prices by buying contracts on future oil production, and selling them for a profit when supply is threatened. They do drive up prices in some cases, but there is not much we can do about it - it is part of and happens in almost all commodity markets. You could go out and buy your own oil futures, but who has the money for that - and then YOU would be a speculator...

    good comment.

wouldn't that be the wall street investors , whom just can't seem to make enough money off those in need ..

Most likely it's Old George Bush and his sons.

    Ann

I found out it is big Investment camponies like Goldman-Sachs and Morgan Stanley who are buying all the Oil stocks and speculating on the price.

ITS THE GEORGE BUSH UNREGULATED MULTICONGLOMERATE OIL COMPANYS  BANKS AND STOCK MARKETS. AND ITS THAT IDIOT OBAMA TRYING TO FIX IT. I THINK THE GLOBAL ECONOMYIS A LOT BETTER OFF IF THE IDIOT (GEORGE) STARTS THE VERY FIRST GLOBAL FINANCIAL MELTDOWN .  WE IN CANADA THINK THE KENYAN IS THE BRAINS FOR THE JOB. EVEN IF YOU DONT THINK SO.

    Ann

As I just said above, its big investment companies who are buying all the oil stocks and speculating on the price. By the way, I dont think I have heard anyone other than you from Canada that thinks Obama is the Brains for the Job.
