Just about anything is better than AOL.  AOL is a virus in itself,  I know people that pay AOL and also pay for Cable service or DSL and don't even know they can dump AOL,   There's great gateways out there that is all you need, once on the www, just use an email address from that provider. You can use it as webmail or use office outlook like I do and I have several email accounts that all filter into that one program. You should never use AOL's browser, its a data collector.  You'll get hundreds of popups. Just use firefox, Opera, Safari, there's several browsers.  Use google for your searches -
