Unless the doctor has advised you this is a symptom of shingles, I'd be on the phone RIGHT NOW making an appointment, and halfway expecting to be told to go to the E.R.

Hopefully, you recovered fully. I had a shingles attack in my eye, and wound up in the E.R. Then, I was admitted in the hospital, released and put on I.V. for a week. After that, I had successful laser surgery on that eye. One doctor told me, that had the infection spread to my brain, I could have died. Anyone who has such eye pain, should get immediate medical treatment!
