        I saw chestnuts at the store yesterday MCM and they made me think of chestnuts roasting by an open fire. (*~*)

          There are a lot of facets to Christmas.  The "reason for the season" for ME is remembering the birth of Jesus Christ.  That is very real for me.

                Beautiful tree! The ornaments look like tin?

                Thanks. We have collected ornaments for over 38 years. Some ornaments are over 100 years old. The star atop the tree was made by my husband for our first Christmas we spent together as husband and wife. It was copied from the one my parents bought during WWII for their first Christmas together.

                WOW! It is beautiful. The "angel" that tops my tree is a paper placemat, a pipecleaner, and a small styrofoam ball with a colored on face that my middle son made in preschool. I had trouble finding it one year and almost cried. Now, I keep it with the photo ornaments, in the closest thing to a safe that I own.
                I love the homemade ornaments and the collectibles. Wherever I went, I always got an ornament for the tree as a souvenir. Good memories!

                    Christmas is from the heart, is in the heart. It helps prove to other's that you remebeer them all year long. We've just gotten reminders every year. What gret way to share feelings............!

                        'Chestnuts roasting on an open fire' ? I thought that all the chestnut trees in the USA had died in the last century due to a disease. Sadly the same disease ( Chryphonectria parasitica) is affecting trees in Europe so this years crop may be the last.

                          I bought some last week and assume that they originated from Italy , as they have been for years. If China is now exporting chestnuts, I will switch to cashews.
