It's one of your oxygen sensors attached to your exhaust system. Bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that your #1 cylinder is on. I spent 20 minutes trying to find a diagram for you. There is none on the internet for a 2001 outback. Take your car to a garage and have a mechanic show you which O2 sensor is giving the code. You need to know what an O2 sensor looks like anyway to find it on your car.
